Marvin R. Cossey age 77 of Salem (formerly of Evening Shade) died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem. He was born February 19, 1938 at Cave City, Arkansas to Forrest Grover and Ruby (Brown) Cossey. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and he retired from United States Postal Service in 1996. He was also a former Sharp County Justice of the Peace. He was a Church of Christ minister and a member of the Liberty Hill Church of Christ near Glencoe. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, J.D. Cossey and an infant brother. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Doreen Cossey of the home; one son, Darren Cossey of Glencoe; one daughter, Sandy Cossey of Batesville; one brother, R.J. Cossey of Cave City; two sisters, Olene McAllister of St. Louis, Missouri and Mildred Grissom of Ocala, Florida; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with David Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery located near Pfeiffer with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Shane Cooper, Clyde Cossey, Larry Freeze, Robert Grissom, Scott Humphrey and Robert Yeager.
