Betty Jo Ward

Betty Jo (Martin) Ward age 90 of Batesville passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Batesville. She was born October 5, 1925 at Oxford, Arkansas to Oler and Effie Caldwell Martin. She loved singing and playing bass guitar and played in a Country and Western band for several years. Survivors include one daughter, Regina Marlin and husband Larry of Tampa, Florida; one son, Reggie K. Ward of Batesville; four grandsons, Christian Marlin and Joshua Marlin both of Miami, Florida, Jamie Ward and Corey Ward both of Batesville; five great granddaughters; two great grandsons; one sister, Sue Hatman of Bryant; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James H. Ward; one son, Ronnie Ward; three brothers and two sisters. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Jethro Bodine. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oxford Cemetery located at Oxford. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. No visitation is planned.
