Ricky “Dawg” Branscum age 63 of Newark died Monday, January 25, 2016 at a Batesville hospital. He was born September 22, 1952 at Batesville, Arkansas, the son of Thurlow Dean “Boe” Branscum and Pauline Bower. He worked several years for Townsend in Batesville and was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Thurlow Dean “Boe” Branscum. Survivors include three sons, Jared Branscum and Luke Branscum both of Batesville and Rusty Branscum of Heber Springs; four daughters, Dawn Gregory, Chantel Wood and Jessica Branscum all of Batesville and Rachel Brown of Jacksonport; his mother, Pauline Bower of Southside; three brothers, Russell Branscum of Marcella, Michael Branscum of Southside and Roy Branscum of Cord; two sisters, Paula Ford of Newark and Peggy Wood of Long Beach, Mississippi; fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, January 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville. Burial will follow in the Maple Springs Cemetery located near Rosie with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Friday, January 29, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Buddy Branscum, Dan Ford, Shawn Allison, Luke Branscum, Rusty Branscum and Bethany Allison.
