Helen Louise Smithee

Helen Louise Smithee age 90 of Batesville died Thursday, March 3, 2016. She was born March 28, 1925 to Lee and Louie Smithee. She worked most of her life in St. Louis, Missouri for Pevely Dairy and came back to Batesville after retirement in 1992. She loved to cook and also liked to line dance at the Senior Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Talmage Smithee and wife Opal and B.W. Smithee; two sisters, Maurine Porter and husband Arden and Bernice Wilcox and husband James and one nephew, Tim Wilcox. Survivors include one brother, Lee Smithee Jr. and wife Betty of Batesville;a sister-in-law, Juanita Smithee; five nephews, Larry Smithee, Harold Wilcox, Bobby Smithee, Caroll Wilcox and David Smithee and six nieces, Catherine McGough, Linda Dobbs, Shirley Dyal, Deborah Lee, Sharon Gardner and Diann Dodd. Graveside services will be Monday, March 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Milligan Campground Cemetery located near Calamine with Chris Buxton officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
