Mrs. Martha Jean Long Creech, 89, of Batesville, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born in Rushing (AR) to Mack (M.O.) Long and Laura Daniels Long. She grew up in Salado (AR). After her husband retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1964, they returned to Batesville, where they resided until their deaths. She was employed by Batesville Manufacturing and White Rodgers in Batesville. She was a homemaker and a musician who loved all kinds of music, as well as cooking for and visiting with friends. She was a member of Moorefield United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Edward Herbert Creech; five brothers, Charlie Long, Chester Long, Mack Long, Junior Long and David Long; a sister, Lorene Long; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Moser. Survivors include her brother, Melvin Long of Little Rock; four children, Jim (Charlene) Creech of Jonesboro; Judy (Danny) James of Batesville; Linda (Earvin) Moser of Batesville; and Gary Creech of Batesville; seven grandchildren, Blake (Morgen) James of Clymer, NY; Jason (Shelly) Moser of Batesville; Kelly (Jimmie) Bilby of Siloam Springs; Brandon (Lauren) Creech of Jonesboro; Erin (Michael) Coetzee of Bentonville; Whitney (Daniel) Roughen of Thunderbolt, GA; and Megan Creech of Bentonville; and nine great-grandchildren, Rachel and Tyler James; Laura and Sarah Bilby; Payne and Juliana Moser; Lylah and Mya Creech; and Henry Coetzee; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, with services to follow at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Lavon Long will officiate. Burial will follow at Egner Cemetery at Salado, with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Larry Apple, Freddie Mohlke, Carroll Mohlke, Glen Mohlke, Dr. James O. Davis and Jeff Long. Honorary pallbearers are Shane Wood, Dr. Ted Shields, Dr. Andy Davidson and Dr. Homer Brooks.
