Winford "Yankee" Hix

Winford “Yankee” Hix, 78 of Batesville died Sunday, April 3, 2016 in Batesville. He was born January 24, 1938 in Batesville, Arkansas to Winford and Minnie Hix. He was a retired painting contractor; a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran and of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Joe Hix, Jerry Hix and Virgil Hix. Survivors include son, Ronnie Hix of Tenino, Washington; daughters, Debbie Martinez of Yakima, Washington, Tammi Endsley of Tumwater, Washington, Lisa Jones of Rockledge, Florida and Stacey Kalkus of Tenino,Washington; sisters, Elveda Brister, Glenda James and Wanda Lee Tuten all of Batesville; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Private graveside services will be held at the Liberty Cemetery located in Gainesboro. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
