Ernestine Palmer Carter, 87 of Batesville died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at her home. She was born November 12, 1928 at Pfeiffer, Arkansas to Ernest and Betty Cummings Palmer. She was a homemaker and a member of the Matlock Road Church of God in Cave City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, B.P. “Buddy” Carter; brothers, Jodie F. Palmer and Archie Wayne Palmer; half brother, Bernard Palmer and sister, Nova Majors. Survivors include son, Paul Don Carter (Dianne) of Cave City; daughters, Betty Ann Carter (Roland) of Batesville and Mary Jane Mize (Max) of Cave City; sister, Muriel Coles of Batesville; half brothers, Alvin Palmer, Alton Palmer, Emmett Palmer and Terry Palmer; half sisters, Helen Miller, Maggie Vanwinkle, Barbara Beard, Marie Treece and Josie Palmer; grandchildren, Rhonda Woods Benton, Brad Carter and Wyndi Ratliff all of Batesville, Brandon Carter of Cave City and Philisha Smith of Calamine; great grandchildren, Korbin Ratliff, Gracen Ratliff, Colten Woods, Jagger Woods, Delanie Smith, Taylin Smith, Lillie-auna Smith, and Arlen Carter; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Cave City with Bro. Bobby Sanders and Bro. Caleb Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Doug Smith, Kirk Ratliff, Brad Carter, Brandon Carter, Colten Woods and Korbin Ratliff. Honorary pallbearers are Jagger Woods and Arlen Carter.
