Nelda E. Branscum, 87 of Batesville passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016. She was born December 29, 1928 at Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, the daughter of Herbert L. and Vera E. Phillips Emerson. She worked 17 ½ years at White Rodgers and was Sunday School secretary at her church for several years. She was a member of the Salado Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Earnest “Dutch” Branscum; a son, Ronald Branscum; an infant daughter, Mary Kathryn Branscum and two brothers, Bryce Emerson and Wilford Emerson. Survivors include two grandsons, Ronald Alexander Branscum of Salado and Phillip Andrew Branscum and wife Heidi of Newark; the mother of her grandsons, Judy Branscum of Rosie; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services, Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Salado Baptist Church with Bro. Barrett Beyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery located at Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation, Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Headstream, Terry Branscum, Loria Emerson, Roger Emerson, James Emerson and Scott Emerson.
