Ella Kathryne Whitworth, 91 of Batesville died Wednesday, July 13, 2016. She was born July 10, 1925 at Batesville, Arkansas to Harve and Anna McLaughlin. She married Mack Whitworth in July 1942. Mack served in WWII and after the war ended they made their home in Batesville where they continued living the rest of their lives. Kathryne was widowed in November 1999. She was challenged in her life by Retinitis Pigmentosa beginning in her 60’s. She was an example of courage and how to live life and express gratitude for what you do have. She was a woman of faith and read the entire Bible many times. She faced the end of her life with courage, dignity and faith in the Lord. She loved quilting, oil painting, gardening, flowers, sewing and vacations in Wyoming and her special trip to the Holy Land in 1980. She was a member of the West Baptist Church in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mack Whitworth; sister, Evelyn Bufford and her husband, Dockie; son-in-law, Rick Russell and sister-in-law,Jean McLaughlin. Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Russell of Sandy, Utah; adopted daughter by love, Linda Dry; two granddaughters, Andrea Workman and Mindy Gibbs; four great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her brother, John McLaughlin of Batesville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be Friday, July 15, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with Bro. Bob Dailey officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
