Leon Acklin, 76 of Cave City died Monday, July 18, 2016 at Ash Flat. He was born September 30, 1939 at Batesville, Arkansas to Amos and Geneva Osborne Acklin. He was retired from Eastman Chemical Company and a member of the Believers Community Church in Batesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl Acklin and Albert Acklin and sisters, Linda Ruminer and Anna Clark. Survivors include his wife Thelma Acklin; daughters, Donna Blevins and Joyce Hill both of Batesville; brothers, Dale Acklin of Newark and Ray Acklin of Batesville; sisters, Joyce Mead of Sidney, Shirley Honea of Clinton, Jane Hall of Cave City and Brenda Acklin of Concord; grandchildren, Cara Brown of Batesville, Jasse Brown of Locust Grove, Tyler McKown of Batesville and Krissy Nichols of Cave City; five great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Believers Community Church in Batesville with Bro. David Insell officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery at Bethesda with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tyler McKown, Craig Baker, Jasse Brown, Ted Hyslip, Aaron Acklin and Adam Acklin. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Acklin and Ray Acklin.
