Dorothy Chance, 88 of Cave City died Sunday, October 23, 2016. She was born May 13, 1928 at Mishawaka, Indiana to Herman and Dessie Mathias Bollhoefer. She was retired from Banquet Foods in Batesville and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Forest Chance; daughters, Darlene Hastings and Debbie Presser; brothers, Harold Bollhoefer and Juke Bollhoefer; sisters, Mary Ellen Lyons and Estel Young and infant grandchildren, Roger and Rebecca Hastings. Survivors include sons, Forest Chance Jr. and Chris Chance both of Batesville; daughters, Connie Headley of Sidney and Jamesetta Carter of Batesville; brother, Dean Bollhoefer of Indiana; sisters, Ruth Lawings and Betty Edwards both of Indiana, Cora Staggs of Cave City and Donna Carlson of Michigan; 24 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City with Rev. Ched Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery at Sandtown with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be Terry Bradley, Jerry Bradley, Nathan Bradley, Bob Bradley, John Ables and Randy Gann. Honorary pallbearers are Leon Snow and Jeff McKenzie.
