Nelson Earl Brown, 78 of Batesville went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, January 14, 2017. He was born on February 17, 1938 in Evening Shade, Arkansas to Earl and Maud Brown. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and was retired from ConAgra Frozen Foods in Batesville with 33 years of service. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Batesville. He enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching and playing his guitar. He enjoyed his church, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Fay Frazier, Lorene Soward and Velma Polk. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Faye Brown of the home; a daughter, Sheila England of Batesville; two grandsons, Dallas Bradford of Indiana and Daniel Scott Bradford of Missouri; two granddaughters, Donna Meeker of California and Catrina Bradford of Cave City; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Stroud of Evening Shade and Norma Smith of Cave City; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Ben Ryan and Bro. Bobby Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave Creek Cemetery located north of Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be John Clements, Billy Rose, Dewayne Jones, Billy Brown, Van Thomas and Gary Tackett. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ron Bates, Dr. Richard VanGrouw and Rex Bonham.
