Marcella May Ramsey, 83 of Batesville died Sunday, January 22, 2017. She was born August 22, 1933 to Buster and Mamie E. Duncan. She was a member of the Desha VFW and Auxiliary foe a long while and dearly loved to go dancing with her best friends, Sara Burton and Betty Strickland. She and her mother enjoyed going and picking poke salad to eat and was famous for her strawberry cakes, chocolate and coconut pies. She also enjoyed ironing for her friends in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her long time friend and love, Raymond Davis; her sister, Patricia A. Thielemier and her husband Teddy. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Crouch of Salem; grandsons, Walter Harould Phillips III, James Allen Phillips and Robert Wayne Phillips; great grandchildren, Taylor Fogle, Eddie Phillips and Trenton Phillips; great great granddaughter, Katelyn Grace Fogle; sisters, Meverine Ashley of McAlester, OK, Brenda Lawson and husband Tommy of Rockford, IL and Mavis Johnson of Batesville; brothers, James Duncan of Newport and Johnny L. Duncan of Cave City and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Bobby Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Donnie Prince, Harold Linthicum, Richard Johnson, Tim Brown, Lonnie Perry, Earnie Thorn and Nathan Duncan.
