Harlon P. Carter Sr., 95 of Pleasant Plains died Thursday, January 26, 2017. He was born October 13, 1921 at Centertown, Kentucky to Leonard Lee and Violet Addington Carter. He was a retired railroad engineer for E J & E Railroad in Gary, Indiana, a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Southside. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Marvin Carter, Dargan Coley, Leonard Carter and Harlon Carter, Jr. and brothers, Noble Carter and Ray Carter. Survivors include son Roger V. Carter of Griffith, Indiana; daughter, Donna Puentez and husband Calistro of Pleasant Plains; sister, Rowena Daniel and husband Jack of Valparaiso, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Kathy Coley; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be Monday, January 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the McMullen Cemetery at Pleasant Plains with Bro. Don Cross officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service. Visitation is Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
