Billy Joe Weaver, 83 of Cave City passed to his heavenly home on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Cave City Nursing Home. He was born June 10, 1934 at Lafferty, Arkansas to Ransom Homer and Euna Katherine (Moser) Weaver. He was married to Betty Fran Williams on March 14, 1958. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. After his retirement he became self-employed hauling lime and fertilizer. Known for being a coach and a referee from the sideline, he was an avid sports fan. Bill was a member of the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church and Curia Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jake Weaver, Jewell Weaver and Gene Weaver; three sisters, Mellie Conyers, Margie Moore and Mary Lou Miller and son-in-law, Randy Hodges. Survivors include his wife, Betty Fran (Williams) Weaver; two daughters, Katherine Sue Hodges of Cave City and Tammy Jo Lawrence of Batesville; one son, Ronald Dean Weaver and wife Debbie of Evening Shade; five grandchildren, Jeremy Porter and wife Joedi, Jimmy Hodges and wife Lindsey, Danell Hetrick and husband Edmund all of Batesville, Jon Hodges and wife Samantha of Cave City and Olivia Blair Weaver of Evening Shade; five great grandchildren, Bronwyn Kent, Cameron Hetrick, Hayes Hodges, Sloane Hodges, all of Batesville and David Hodges of Cave City; brother-in law, J.C. Miller of Tulsa ,Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Nola Weaver of Batesville and Barbara Weaver of Hood River, Oregon; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Boyce Johnson and Bro. Phillip Lewallen officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Sidney. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Porter, Jimmy Hodges, Jon Hodges, Edmund Hetrick, Larry Weaver, John Weaver, Paul Slade and Brian Weaver. Honorary pallbearers are Leonard St. John, Terry St. John, Carl Johnson, Paul Wesley Johnson, Gilbert McCracken, Travis Parsley, Calvin Lassiter, Darrell Shreve and Charles Willmuth.
