Janet Sue Hughes Ward, 69 of Batesville died Wednesday, July 19, 2017. She was born March 9, 1948 at Batesville, Arkansas to Bud and Merle Hughes. She was a retired school teacher and librarian having served at Corning, Newark and for the majority of her career at Cave City. She also worked part time for 10 years at the White River Regional Library in Batesville. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Ronnie Ward and brother-in-law, Reggie Ward. Survivors include sons, James Hughes Ward and Corey Alan Ward (Jessica) all of Batesville; sisters, Peggy Ann Pinkston (Bob) of Heber Springs and Barbara C. McClure (Mac) of Batesville; grandchildren, Tabyn Grace Ward, Taft Alan Ward, Hayden James Ward, Alyssa Smallwood and Nathan Duke; sister-in-law, Regina Marlin (Larry); special friends, Norma Stafford, Patty Cordell, Sonya Kay Hill, Debbie Stansberry and Lorrie McClure; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Rev. Paul Seay officiating. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers are Mac McClure, Chad McClure,Wesley McClure, Ted Heyde, Austin Johnson and Seth Johnson.
