Loretta Tharp

Loretta Tharp, 75 of Batesville died Sunday, August 6, 2017 at her home. She was born November 27, 1941 at Carthage, Missouri to Calvin and Julia Burnett Spurgeon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Hill Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andy Tharp and a grandson, James Harris. Survivors include one son, William Tharp of Batesville; three daughters, Polly Sanders and Marty Easter both of Batesville and Sharon Harris of Southside; three brothers, Johnny Burnett and Don Spurgeon both of Batesville and Paul Spurgeon of Mildred, Missouri; one sister, Sharon Aldridge of Springfield, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Kenny Tharp officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery located near Cushman. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dustin Sanders, Randy Sanders, Jordan Easter, Josh Easter, Brandon Wood and Matt Bell. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jim Lytle, Jessum Easter, Jaridan Easter and Little Josh Easter.
