Jeffie Mae Anderson Brown age 77 of Cave City died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at her home. She was born August 5, 1940 at Batesville, Arkansas to A.J. and Vida (Wilson) Laman. She was a retired business teacher, Cave Township Committee Member for the Democratic Party, Farm Bureau Committee Member, Arkansas Education Association Board Member and a member of the Cave City First United Methodist Church. Jeffie loved spending time with her family and friends. She always looked forward to meeting her buddies for breakfast every morning. She loved to cook, can vegetables from her garden, read cookbooks, and do Wheel of Fortune crossword puzzles. She made the best potato soup according to her granddaughters and roast according to her daughter. She was entertained by her cats and knew all of them by name. She was the kindest individual and found the positive in every situation. In her teenage years, she played the piano for several gospel quartets and went to quartet conventions. She continued playing the piano for the church until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Charles Duaine Anderson. Survivors include her husband, Buster Brown of the home; her daughter, Karen (Shelly) Anderson White and husband Kenny of Jonesboro; granddaughters, Sydney White and Tamara White both of Jonesboro; special family, Jim and Andrea Smith of Cave City, Dustin Smith of Cave City and Zach Smith of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; stepsons, Jonathan Brown and David Brown both of Irving, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cave City with Bro. Joe Kiser, Bro. Roger Hook and Bro. Bobby Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery located at Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Monday, August 21, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cave City. Pallbearers will be Bill Nesbitt, Jon Patterson, Steven Green, Marc Walling, Gary Johnson and Jimmy Beams. Honorary pallbearers are Birdie Rogers, Robert Dean Coles, Larry Brown, Stan Taylor and John Beller. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Cave City First United Methodist Church music fund.
