Joyce G. Anderson

Joyce G. Anderson, 92 of Poughkeepsie died Friday, August 25, 2017. She was born December 13, 1924 at Poughkeepsie, Arkansas to Allen and Celia (Binkley) Gay. She was a homemaker and a member of the Little Springs Missionary Baptist Church at Poughkeepsie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, B.F. Anderson; two sisters, Alline Gray and Emagene Johnson and a grandson, Benjamin Patrick Hanson. Survivors include son, Frank Anderson (Melissa) of Armorel; daughters, Lexie Sullivan (Maurice) of Calamine and Pat Hanson (James) of Batesville; brother, Norwood Gay (Genie) of Elkhart, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, Hayley Tibbs, Jody Harris, Victoria Anderson, Abigail Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, Jonathan Anderson and Jamie Mathews; 7 great grandchildren, Lily Tibbs, Ben Tibbs, Aspen Fouts, Anna Elizabeth Mathews, James Jordan Malatesta, Lauren Hanson and Rebekah Hanson; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Little Springs Missionary Baptist Church at Poughkeepsie with Michael Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Spotts Cemetery located at Poughkeepsie with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Randy Norwood, Brian Mathews, DeWayne Tibbs, Kenny Harris, Ben Tibbs and Roger Johnson. The family wishes to thank Woodlawn Nursing Home and staff for their care and compassion for our mother.
