Mary Lee (Rutledge) Presley, 83 of Southside died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was born September 15, 1934 in the McHue area to Nick and Stella Rutledge. She graduated from Southside High School in 1952 and married J.B. Presley on October 25, 1952. She was a devoted and loving, wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured time with her grandchildren. She was a dedicated Christian with strong faith and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville. She had great perseverance in the face of health challenges that started early in life. She was an enthusiastic sports fan who was loyal to the Razorbacks and Southside School. She enjoyed tending her flower beds, working in the yard and was also a fabulous cook, famous for her carrot cake. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Willa Dean Head; brother, Jimmy Rutledge and a grandson. Survivors include her devoted husband of 65 years, J.B. Presley ; daughters, Sandy Presley of Southside and Laura Caddy(Kurt) of Walnut Grove, Missouri; brother, Glen Rutledge (Iola) of Southside; grandchildren, Zachary (Elli), Luke (Megan), Olivia, Katelyn, Stephen (Melody), Isaac, Diego and Selena; niece, Kay Trumble; great niece Allison Trumble; nephew, James Head (Malinda); numerous other nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Randy Scott and Kurt Caddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery near Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service. Visitation will be Monday, October 9, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Roy Cartwright, Bill Callahan, Zachary Caddy, Luke Caddy, Stephen Grayson and Keith Brickell. Honorary pallbearers James Head, George Brickell, Glen Rutledge, Clarence Lusk, Dr. Robert Walton and members of the Friendship Class at Calvary Baptist Church.
