Sandra Joan (Todd) Jarvis Thomas

Sandra Joan (Todd) Jarvis Thomas passed peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Cave City Nursing Home. Sandra was born on January 23, 1941 at her family’s home in Fort Madison, Iowa. She was the oldest of six children born to Roy Christopher and Cora Evelyn (Knight) Todd. On October 25, 1959, she married Kenneth Dean Jarvis in Monmouth, Illinois. They celebrated the births of three children – Robin Jarvis of San Antonio, TX, Melony (Harold) Beck of Tuckerman, AR, and David (Judy) Jarvis of Cherokee Village, AR. They were blessed with four grandchildren – Alvin (Jamey) Jeffery of Nashville, TN, Bill (Taylor) Jeffery of Walnut Ridge, AR, Michael (Kristen) Jarvis of Batesville, AR, and Kristin Son of Cherokee Village, AR. Her great-grandchildren – Paxton Jarvis, Eleanor Jeffery and Bryer Barker – brought her great joy. Sandra’s surviving siblings are Donald (Betty) Todd of Jonesboro, AR, Patricia Kreul of Light, AR, and Robert Todd of Monmouth, IL. Her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Barbara (Jarvis) Jack of LaHarpe, IL and sister-in-law, Marilyn (Boots) Jarvis also survive as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In July 2002, Sandra found a second chance at happiness and wed John Thomas of Jonesboro, AR. She was welcomed into his family by his siblings and their spouses. They had eight good years together. Sandy loved spending time with her family and friends, almost as much as she loved to fish and hunt morel mushrooms! She also enjoyed midnight trips to Wal-Mart, especially with her grandchildren as well as spur-of-the-moment trips to Illinois to see family. Sandra is predeceased by her parents, her siblings, Nancy Sue and LeRoy, her husbands, Kenneth and John, her daughter-in-law, Susan, and her in-laws – Rick, Clarence, Bob, and Carol. A local visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, Illinois followed by a graveside service at the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery in Monmouth, Illinois. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are Sandra’s nephews: Kirk Huston, Carl Riedel, Rick Jarvis, Tim Jack, Dan Jack, Jeff Jarvis, Mark Todd, Chris Riedel, Robert Kreul, Jr., Allan Todd and Matt Huston.
