Calvin Cooledge Lindsey age 92 years and 8 months of Evening Shade passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 30, 2017. He was born April 9, 1925 at Montrose, Colorado to Roe and Nola May (Gifford) Lindsey. Calvin was a WWII Army Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. He enjoyed country life, building/inventing things, making beautiful textured walls and ceilings, listening, singing and recording bluegrass music. He loved his animals and loved wild turkey hunting. He was a member of the Piney Fork Church of Christ in Evening Shade. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jamie Lindsey; one son, John Kenneth Lindsey; three brothers, Junior Lindsey, Gene Lindsey and Hubert Lindsey and one sister, Lois Barber. Survivors include one daughter, CSM (R) Betty List-Rice of Columbia, Tennessee; one son, Gary Lindsey of Cave City; one sister, Royce Reding of Sidney; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Dwight Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in the Maxville Cemetery located north of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Wayne Wolf, Alfred Reding, Richard Barber, Jerry Greer, Lester Mullen and Joe Conrow. Honorary pallbearers are Brad List, Josh Althof and Lloyd (Cowboy) Campbell.
