Wayne Johnson

Wayne Johnson, 81 of Saffell died Monday, December 25, 2017 at his home. He was born August 23, 1936 at Nelsonville, Arkansas, the son of Edgar Johnson. He worked in the timber industry for 50 years. In recent years, he raised cattle and worked with his sons on their poultry farms. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He attended the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Lynn. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Leroy Johnson. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lana (Saffell) Johnson; two sons, Scotty Johnson and wife Linda and Todd Johnson and wife Marnie all of Saffell; a sister, Mildred Sherman of Sherman, Texas; 6 grandchildren; Boue Johnson and wife, Brandi, Eric Johnson and wife, Amber, Megan Jones and husband, Jared, Natalie Johnson, Paige Johnson and Blaine Johnson; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Lynn with Bro. Terral Neeley and Bro. Jeff Neeley officiating. Burial will follow in the Saffell Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Scotty Johnson, Todd Johnson, Boue Johnson, Eric Johnson, Jared Jones and W.O. Huskey. Honorary pallbearers are Blaine Johnson, Cole Johnson, Gus Jones, Jaxon Johnson, Wade Jones, Noah Jones, Jasper Johnson and Carly Jo Johnson.
