Mattie Mae (Layne) Rogers

Mattie Mae Layne Rogers (better known as Grandmama) age 93 of Ash Flat died Monday, January 1, 2018. She was born February 14, 1924 at Simstown, Arkansas to Hubert Garland and Martha Caroline (Hoaney) Layne. She was a homemaker and a member of the Corinth Methodist Church at Ash Flat. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred Rogers; one daughter, Montez Rogers; one grandson, Chad Oliver and one great granddaughter, Camillia Oliver. Survivors include one son, Gary Rogers and wife Ruth of Ash Flat; one daughter, Dolly Nicholson and husband Rex of Ash Flat; one sister, Ernestine Goodman of Batesville; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ash Flat Church of Christ with Tommie Boles, Johnny Carter and Randy Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Wiles Cemetery located at Ash Flat with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Ash Flat Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be Roger Nicholson, Randy Nicholson, Regan Nicholson, Dustin Rogers, Becky Foreman, Robin Boyer, Mandy Humphries and Leslie Gitz. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the children’s charity of your choice.
