Joyce L. Mize

Joyce L. Mize age 82 of Southside died Wednesday January 10, 2018. She was born September 26, 1935 at Monette, Arkansas to Ira and Mildred Metcalf Nettles. She was a homemaker and a member of the Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wendell Nettles and Clayton Nettles and one sister, Deloris Bowman. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Bob Mize of the home; one son, Bobby Michael Mize; two daughters, Penny Clayton (Frankie) and Patti Tatum (Rusty), all of Southside; three sisters, Norma Spurlock of Lake City, Mary Sue Moore of Monette and Sharon Lock of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Brett Mize (Alicia) and Ryan Clayton; two great grandchildren, Rylee Mize and Callie Mize; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. the Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Landers officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery at Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Brian Mize, Phillip Mize, Gary Mize, Tyler Mize, Geno Spurlock and Ronnie Bowman. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ron Bates and Dr. Amanda Johnson.
