Alberta Mae Watkins

Alberta Mae Watkins, 72, of Batesville passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in Little Rock.  She was born August 30, 1950 in Batesville to Theodore “Slim” Wells and Hattie Lee Herrin.  She was retired from White Rogers where she worked for 33 years and most recently retired from Batesville School District for at least 13 years.  She was of the Baptist faith and dedicated her life to Christ as a young girl.  She remained a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church as a church secretary and choir member.  She enjoyed cleaning, gardening, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A.B. Watkins; brothers, John Glenn, Theodore “Teddy,” Ronald “Bo,” and John Robert; sisters, Mary Sue, Syvatious and Syvetious and a grandchild, Dustin Watkins.

She is survived by a son, Frankie Watkins (Christina) of Batesville; one daughter, Melissa “Missy” Roucoulet of Indianapolis; four brothers, David, Tommy (Mary), William (Valerie) and Samuel all of Batesville; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and two special friends, J.D. Smith and Rev. C.J. Lindsey.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:00AM at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. L.A. Bland officiating.  Burial will follow at Ruddell Hill Cemetery.
