Altha Smith Hall Phillips, 97, of Batesville went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2022. She was born October 24, 1924 in Cushman, Arkansas to Flora and Mattie Wink Smith. She was a retail cashier at Fred’s Dollar Store for many years and a member of the Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Batesville.
Altha enjoyed fishing, camping, her family, church and games. Her last month of life was at Eagle Mountain Assisted Living, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Willard Hall; second husband Ermyle Phillips and four sisters, Dorothy Clouse, Margie McDoniel, Ireta Fitzsimmons and Geneva Melton.
Survivors include one son, Eric Hall (Tammy) of Batesville; two daughters, Sharon Selph of Conway and Ruth Gay of Southside; three sisters, Helen Ruminer of Batesville, Linda Wilson of Batesville and Gail Morgan (Jimmie) of Rosie; two grandchildren, Christine Thomas (Wade) and Brandon Gay (Shawna); four great grandchildren, Sarah Wadsworth, Mersadies Gay, Jentry Gay and Joy Gay; two great great grandchildren, Jaxon Wadsworth and Adaline Green; one niece and several nephews with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Full Gospel Fellowship Church, 2805 Neeley St. in Batesville with Pastor Nathan Tabor officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers are Greg Potts, Doug Carnett, Randy Hall, Roger Melton, Doug Fitzsimmons and Eddie Eckert.
Honorary Pallbearers are Doyle Clouse, Ronnie Melton, Jimmie Morgan, Doyne Potts and Bill Williams.
