Bert Duncan, 80, of Batesville died Monday, January 14, 2019. He was born October 29, 1938 at Lynn, Arkansas to James Asa Duncan Sr. and Nora Vincent Wildrick Duncan. He was a retired welder and a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Bert was loved by everyone. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Edward Duncan and James Asa Duncan Jr; and three sisters, Mary Johnson, Christena Powell, and Ocalee Duncan.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Mildred Chisam Duncan of the home; three daughters, Sandra Duncan and Virginia Jimenez (David) both of Batesville, and Reta Gramling (Bill) of Marcella; three sisters, Cleaetta Polland (Bob) of Strawberry, Linda Janiece Cross (Jerry) of Charlotte, and Deborah Martinez of Batesville; four grandchildren, Millie Foster, Jason Elms (Amy) David Elms (Micah), and William Daryl Rodriguez; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Southside with Bro. Bob Dailey and Bro. Shawn McGaha officiating. Interment will be at the Egner Cemetery at Salado. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
