Betty Morgan Kelley, age 83, of Cave City, AR, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her beloved family on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
Betty was born on September 26, 1935, to Ray and Ione Morgan. After her marriage to Sid Kelley in January 1953, they moved to Coloma, Michigan, where they lived until returning to Cave City in 1965. She resided in Cave City until 2012 when she moved to Dahlonega, GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Sidney (Sid) Kelley and brothers, Junior and Wilson Morgan and her sister, Mary Morgan Jones. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Cave City. She was a strong and loving mother having raised up four children after the death of her husband. Betty was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking for friends and family. Betty also loved working outdoors, enjoying the things of nature, and drawing.
Survivors include her son, Stan (Sally) Kelley of Dahlonega, Georgia, daughters Fran (Paul) Matthews of Cave City, Sharon (Doug) Davis of Searcy, AR, and Lisa (Greg) Crabtree, also of Cave City. Betty’s grandchildren are Brandi (Mark) Turner of Cleveland, GA, Lindsey (Hank) Haynes of Dahlonega, GA, Matthew Kelley of Salisbury, NC, Josh (Amy) Matthews of Cave City, AR, Zach Hunter of Toronto, Canada, and Rachel (Colton) Dunbar of Jonesboro, AR. Great-grandchildren include Logan and Cooper Turner of Cleveland, GA, Sarah Grayce and Rhett Haynes of Dahlonega, GA, Samuel and Kate Matthews of Cave City, AR. Betty was also survived by her brother, Ted Morgan of Sitka, AR.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Betty’s son, Stan Kelley, will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Parsley Cemetery.
