Betty Lou Dawson Thomas

Betty Lou Dawson Thomas, 90, of Center passed away Friday, June 17, 2022 in Jonesboro. She was born March 5, 1932 at Ash Flat to John B. and Minnie K. Shands Burrus.

Betty was a former jailer for the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Evening Shade. She loved her children and grandchildren and early in life enjoyed horses.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Rex Dawson; second husband, Carlson Thomas; four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include one son, Dennis Dawson (Betty) of Salem; one daughter, Patty Dawson of Manila; one brother, Tom Burrus of Malvern; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel with John Deaton officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Center Cemetery at Center.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, 2022, 10:00 a.m. to service time.
