Calvin “Red” Lassiter, age 80, of Cave City passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born September 24, 1942 in Cave City to Ervin and Alma Lassiter. He was a retired supervisor with the Arkansas State Highway Department and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cave City. Red enjoyed going to Talladega, the lake and church. He also enjoyed attending sporting events for all the Cave City teams. Red just loved going!
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul Junior Lassiter; one sister, Barbara Penn; and great niece, Amy Penn.
Survivors include his nephews, Michael Lassiter and wife Sarah, and Greg Penn and wife Cheryl all of Cave City; and one niece, Becky Marlin of Evening Shade along with other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Ron Canard officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be William Runyan, Rustin Wooldridge, Jim Smith, Seth Englehardt, Chief Englehardt, Dean Hastings and Coach Russell Fowler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeral Hastings, Donald Hastings and all of his coffee shop buddies.
Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Cave City School Athletic Department at P.O. Box 600 Cave City, AR. 72521.
