Charles “Ray” Brokaw, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the age of 87. He was born March 24, 1931 at Batesville, Arkansas to Floyd and Effie (Ives) Brokaw. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department. He was of the Pentecostal Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Abe Brokaw and Willis Brokaw; a sister, Dorothy Barnett and a son, Randall Brokaw.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Margaret Duncan Brokaw of the home; one brother, Von Brokaw (Eva); two sisters, Daisy Prince (Harry) and Louise Reddock (Joe) all of Batesville; two sons, Freeman Brokaw (Jackie) and Allen Brokaw both of Cave City; two daughters, Diane Girtman (Gary) and Agnes Melcher (Robin) both of Batesville; 17 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 25 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Joe Reddock officiating. Burial will follow in the Weaver’s Chapel Cemetery at Batesville.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Allen Brokaw Jr., Clint Brokaw, Josh Brokaw, Preston Holly, Tyler Hodges and Shanna Bracey.
Honorary pallbearers are Angel Rae Galvin, Colin Ray Brokaw, Marty Manual, Tristian Manual, William Sterling, Seth Phillips, Hunter Berger, Joseluis Luis, Ethan Boss, Joseph Brewer, Jonathan Manual, Austin Brokaw, Jacob Phillips, Michael Payne and Dalton Berger.
