Clara Jean Cossey, age 70, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at her home in Cave City, AR. She was born November 29, 1951 in Chicago, IL Women’s Hospital to Doyle and Clara Patterson Cossey. Jean was a professional truck driver for the U.S. government in Iraq and over the road for major lines. She was a licensed financial advisor, tax preparer and earned more than 250 college hours.
She was preceded in death by her father, Doyle Cossey; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Virgie James Patterson; and paternal grandparents, Ernest and Lucille Walton Cossey.
Survivors include her mother, Clara Patterson Cossey of Batesville; her son, James “Jason” Patterson of Cave City; her brother, David Cossey of Cave City; her two sisters, Ginger Cossey Sandy of Cave City and Debbie Cossey Shaw of Batesville; one aunt, Peggy J Patterson Ross of Cave City; two uncles, Clyde Cossey of Cave City and Jack Patterson of Batesville; four grandchildren, Logan Patterson (Darci) of Pine Bluff, Ethan Patterson (Ashdan) of Southside, Mattie Patterson and Alley Patterson of Newark; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church near Cave City, AR with Bro. Eddy Lee, Bro. John Sanders and Bro. Logan Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the James Cemetery in Sulphur Rock with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Logan Patterson, Ethan Patterson, David Cossey, Danny Sandy, Jack Sanders and Jim Sanders.
