Claudia Jean Herzig

Claudia Jean Herzig, 78 of Strawberry passed in peace Sunday, December 13, 2020. She was born June 9, 1942 to Claude Eulis and Daisy Lucille (Neeley) Winkle in Batesville, AR.  She married George Lee (Vown) Herzig in 1961 and was married for 51 years at the time of his passing in 2012.

Claudia was an owner and operator of The Strawberry Dairy Bar and helped run the family’s small dairy farm in the 1980’s. She spent the rest of her years as a beloved homemaker where she raised two children.  She was a devout member of the Strawberry Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed painting, taking care of her dogs, riding horses, and spending her days outside.

Survivors include son, Bobby Herzig of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Richard Sprague of Strawberry, AR; grandchildren, Whitney Hanson and husband Charlie of Clarksville, TN, and Ryan Kelley of Huntsville, AR; great grandson, Kameron Kelley; brother, Jerry Winkle of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Sandra Jackson of Corinth, MS, Sue Baumann of Cherokee Village, AR, Judy Brown of Strawberry, AR, and Debbie Ballard of Horseshoe Bend, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and one brother, Jackie Winkle.

Due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, services are limited to immediate family and held with burial at Ward Cemetery in Strawberry with Bro. Craig Campbell as officiant. Condolences can be sent to P.O. Box 208, Strawberry, AR  72469
