Denver Ladell Wilson

Denver Ladell Wilson, 83 of Calamine died Tuesday, August 13, 2019. He was born March 4, 1936 at Shelbyville, Arkansas to James Albert and Nanny Josephine Clem Wilson.  He was a logger and cattle, hog and poultry farmer.  He enjoyed storytelling and visiting with anyone he ran across.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Strawberry Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wandon Wilson, James L. Wilson and Shelby Wilson and sisters, Juanita Hoggard and Vera Hoggard.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Kay Wright Wilson of the home; three daughters, Rhonda Harris (Anthony) of Lynn, Rena Whitmire (Craig) of Strawberry and Shauna Baxter (Zack) of Calamine; one brother, Bobby Wilson (Barbara) of Calamine; three sisters, Lanell Hoggard (Leon) of Augusta Kansas, Donna Lemaster (Jim) and Janice McCollum (Bob) both of Cave City; sister-in-law, Jackie Wilson of Calamine; brother-in law, L.D. Hoggard of Cave City;  10 grandchildren, Cody Harris (Tamara), Allie Evans (Trea), Austin Harris (Morgan), Caitlin Murphy (Tyler), Madalyn Whitmire, Caleb Whitmire, Josie Whitmire, Ryder Baxter, Kylie Baxter and Gunner Baxter; 5 great grandchildren, Zane, Owen, Graham and Nevin Harris and Lakyn Evans; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Strawberry Church of Christ with Gregg Cooper and Kenny Townsley officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery located at Strawberry with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time at the church.

Pallbearers will be Cody Harris, Austin Harris, Trea Evans, Ryder Baxter, Gunner Baxter, Caleb Whitmire, Tyler Murphy and Will Smith.

Honorary pallbearers are Gary Farmer, Larry Farmer, James Hoggard, Jimmy Dean Hoggard, Paul Hoggard, Steve Hoggard, Jim Hoggard, Wayne Hoggard, Keith Wilson, Jeff Huskey, Tony Jones, Gary Dean Farmer, R.A. Wright and all his coffee shop buddies.
