Dorma Lea Brown, age 83, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of Independence County until her move to Vilonia, AR. She retired from ConAgra Foods in Batesville in 2005. She worked on the family farm and enjoyed gardening, painting ceramics, quilting, sewing for her family, teaching Sunday School, along with her many other talents. She was a devoted Nana and loved spending time with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Fern Candler Beel; one sister, Zorah Marie Duncan and one grandchild, Elizabeth Diane Petty.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Charles Rex Brown; three children and their spouses, Randy and Rhonda Brown, Irvin and Rhonda Fairfield and Joe and Rachel Petty; six grandchildren, Casey Fairfield and wife Elishia, Daniel Charles Brown, Heather Settles and husband Jarrod, Katelin Perry and husband Johnny, James Petty and Robby Petty; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Beel and Ronald Beel; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Dorma was a devoted wife, mother and Nana. Her legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 3, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Floral.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Casey Fairfield, Jarrod Settles, James Petty, Kenny Carrigan, Irvin Fairfield and Joe Petty.
Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Charles Brown and Randy Brown.
