Dorothy Marie Guthrie

Dorothy Guthrie, 90, of Violet Hill passed away December 11, 2024 at Cabot Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 28, 1934 in Ellis, KS to Edward and Francis Weaver. She was a housewife that raised two children and enjoyed family, friends, crocheting, card games, puzzles, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Duane (Buck) Guthrie; and brother Raymond Weaver.

Survivors include: son David Guthrie and James Weaver; daughter Brenda Madrid; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends. Per her written request I include this: “When I’m gone from this life to God above, I will be Home. To my family: Shed not too many tears at my departing for I am whole again and have no pain or sorrow, only love. Live with hope, love and kindness. Have Faith in God, love and trust His words. Love to all, Mom.”

A memorial service will be held on April 5, 2025, 1pm at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church fellowship hall at 138 West Road, Mt Pleasant, AR.
