Eddie O'Neal Morse

Eddie O’Neal Morse, 75, of Saffell passed away April 10, 2025 at Saffell. He was born October 19, 1949 at Cord to Harve and Ruby Morse. He owned and operated Morse Trucking, loved his coffee, family and big family gatherings. To know Eddie is to love him. He did not know a stranger and made the best gumbo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Tresa Kay Moody and Vicki Mathis; six brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn L (Lucas) Morse of LA; three sons, Scott Morse (Chasidy) of Saffell, Perry Mathis of LA, and Sammy Mathis (Marci) of LA; one daughter, Corinna Murphree (Gary) of Charlotte ; four sisters, Wilma, Betty, Linda, and Peggy; sixteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives of friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 15, 2025, 2:00 P.M. at the Cattleman’s Livestock Exchange at 7750 White Dr. in Cord with Bro. Jim Bales officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery located at Cord.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, April 15, 2025, 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Cattleman’s Livestock Exchange .

Pallbearers will be Perry Mathis, Rick Jennings, Terry Jennings, Bobby Power, Mitch Bell, David Collins, and Robert Brown.

Honorary pallbearers are Evan Morse, Hunter Otis, and Levi Hix.
