Elwese Burress, 76, of Batesville died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Cave City Nursing Home. She was born July 29, 1942 at Batesville, Arkansas to William Perry Prier and Geneva Lesley Prier Brown. She was retired from the Wal-Mart Jewelry Department and was of the Free Will Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Herschel Brown; husband, Carl D. Crabtree; daughter, Shannon Slaughter; and grandson, Bobby Slaughter Jr.
Survivors include one son, Brad Crabtree (Sonia) of Cave City; one brother, Charles Prier of Georgia; two sisters, Clydella Shreve (Ebby) and Madonna Brown both of Cave City; seven grandchildren, Braydon Crabree (Jessica), Amber Ginn (Brad), Raven Slaughter, Jade Slaughter, Dustin Slaughter, Danielle Slaughter and Dalton Slaughter; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Ron Canard officiating. Burial will follow in the Maxville Cemetery located north of Cave City.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Braydon Crabtree, Pete Ring, Billy Penn, Randy Moody, Bobby Slaughter, and Jimmy Dale Hastings.
Honorary Pallbearers are Malcom Hix and Ebby Shreve.
