Esther Marie Riden, 95, of Cave City formerly of Bridgman Michigan, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday August 30, 2018, to receive her eternal reward from her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born in Providence Kentucky on March 27, 1923 to James and Elizabeth (Nora) Dillenger. She was the oldest of seven children, and prided herself in being her father’s favorite child.
In 1948 she met her husband of 53 years Archie Gene Riden, and the two would soon start their own large family while traveling extensively throughout the United States for many years. They eventually settled down in Bridgman, Michigan where Esther’s family was the founding members of the First Apostolic Church of Bridgman. She would go on to devote her life to serving the Lord in this local congregation. She retired to Cave City Arkansas to be closer to her youngest daughter Brenda Burr during her final years.
She is survived by her 5 children; Betty Huff of Huntingburg, IN; Janice Bray of Owensboro, KY; James and (Connie) Riden of Bridgman, MI; Brenda (Larry) Burr of Cave City, AR; and Kenneth Riden of Batesville, AR; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Archie Riden, her dear daughter Gloria Dixon, and her grandson Samuel Dixon.
She was a faithful member of First Church UPCI of Batesville and will have her celebration of life service held there on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. M.D. Parmley officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
No visitation is planned.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Goodman Jr., Wayne Goodman III, Chris Williamson, Jeremy Riden, James Riden and Keith Tuggle.
