Florence Geraldine (Ward) Poskey, 93 of Strawberry died Friday, May 17, 2019. She was born November 14, 1925 in Strawberry, Arkansas to Owen Edward and Juddie (Bennett) Ward. She was a realtor and the first female Justice of Peace for Sharp County. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and being with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ed Ward, Tony Ward and Billy Hugh Ward and one sister, Delores Lepper.
Survivors include son Gary Poskey of Beebe; daughter, Vicki (Randall) Gawf of Strawberry; grandchildren, Michael (Rose) Poskey, Julie (Roger) Parker and Jana (Craig) Martin; great grandchildren Hunter (Sarah)Poskey, Austin (Kaitlyn) Poskey, Cody Poskey, Jared (Kelsea) Parker, Samantha Parker and Ally Martin; great-great grandchildren, Zaylee Winters, Shanleigh Parker, and Sawyer Poskey; brother, Jerry (Angie) Ward of Strawberry; sister-in-laws, Alma Ward and Barb Ward of Batesville and Lois Ward of Bald Knob; sisters, Clella (Bob) Bellefeville of California and Marilyn (Joe) Adcock of Georgia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 20, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Kennard Ward officiating. Eulogists will be Ally Martin, Samantha Parker and Mitch Ward. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Poskey, Austin Poskey, Cody Poskey, Jared Parker, Roger Parker and Craig Martin.
Honorary pallbearers are nieces and nephews.
