Floyd Watson Wilson, 70 of Batesville, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
He was born February 17, 1948 at Hemphill, Texas to R.L. and Doris (Poole) Wilson.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War in 1968 & 1969.
Floyd Wilson proudly served in Vietnam in the 271st Attack Support Helicopter Company or "Delta Innkeepers" as they were called in country. Floyd finally joined his brothers lost in combat after a 50 year fight with Agent Orange.
GOD BLESS all of the men and women who have served or are serving our country.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Martha Wilson and fondly remembered by two sons Clifford and fiancé Mary, Clayton and wife Holly from Port Barre Louisiana; sister, Auda Bee and husband Tommy Wood; brother Leon Johnson and wife Nancy; numerous nephews and nieces; fourteen grandchildren and two great grand children.
He is also survived by his lifelong childhood friends Gary Hall and wife Sherry from Texas and Ronnie Willingham and wife Maryana from Texas and his service buddy George (Ralph) Campbell and wife Peggy Campbell of Minnesota.
Floyd loved fishing and hunting and being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Floyd was an amazing husband and loving father and friend. Floyd was a very loving and gentle soul and will be missed by many friends and family.
The Lord has gained another precious angel and may your next journey be the highlight of your life.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Ferris Keller officiating.
Visitation and viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Honorary pallbearers are Tony Upton, Clifford Bergeron, Clayton Bergeron, Gary Hall, George(Ralph) Campbell and Ronnie Willingham.
