James Larry Harris

James “Larry” Harris, 78, of Strawberry passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 in Batesville surrounded by his family.  He was born October 9, 1944 in Strawberry to Claude and Florine Huskey Harris.  He was a truck driver and owned his own trucking business.  He enjoyed wood working, watching his grandchildren play sports and loved spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lyda Ann Barber Harris of the home; a son, Kevin Harris (Jeanetta) of Batesville; a daughter, Kimberly McDermott (Kelly) of Garland, TX; sister, Phyllis Harris of Strawberry; four grandchildren, Jared Harris (Brooklyn) of Cave City, Chelsea Frans (Zach) of Charlotte, Holden McDermott (Sahira) of Garland, TX and Vanessa Hendricks (Dave) of Batesville; eight great grandchildren Slade, Stetson, Hadley, Dylan, Arabella, Brantley, Cambrie and Aspen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 11:00AM at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Cooper officiating.   

Burial will follow at Ward Cemetery located at Strawberry. 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 beginning at 10:00AM until service time

Pallbearers will be Jared Harris, Holden McDermott, Zach Frans, Shane Watts and Levi Watts.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Slade Harris, Stetson Harris, Hadley Frans and Dylan McDermott.
