James S. Mize

James S. Mize, 84 of Saffell died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his home. He was born July 6, 1934 at Saffell, Arkansas to George Herbert and Flora (Sharp) Mize.  He was a retired truck driver for Wal-Mart; a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church in Saffell. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Edward Mize, Tola Mize, J.S. Mize and C.B. Mize and three sisters, Virgie Doyle, Velma Daggett and Lola Saffell.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruth Mize of the home; two daughters, Darla Huskey (Scotty) of Saffell and Dena Davis (Gary) of Smithville; one sister, Berline Sullivan of Moline, Illinois; five grandchildren, Marcus Huskey (Courtney), Madison Huskey , Bridget McNatt (Tim), Stevie Coleman (Brian) and Landon Davis; two great grandchildren, Anna Saffell and Collin Huskey; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church in Saffell with Bro. Tim Doss officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery in Cord with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Huskey, Gary Davis, Marcus Huskey, Landon Davis, David Hix and Ronnie Melton.

Honorary pallbearers are all nephews and nieces.
