James E. Moore, 82 of Sulphur Rock passed away Friday, December 3, 2021. He was born January 17, 1939 in Selmer, Tennessee to Hobert and Mary (Landreth) Moore. He possessed a very strong work ethic and retired from Wal-Mart with 21 years of service as a commercial truck driver. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Charlotte Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Martha Carter, Joann Koons, Jean Boyle, Linda Sue Moore and Wanda Mae Moore and two brothers, John Moore and Harrace Moore.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Johnnie Moore; two sons, Ricky Moore (Kim) of Ravenden Springs and Michael Foster (Charla) of Glen Rose, Texas; two daughters, Lisa Carlton of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Jamie Moore of Sulphur Rock; a brother, Larry Moore (Earlene) of Maynard; four grandchildren, Brittnay Barnett (Cameron), Noah Foster, Journey Foster and Maddox Moore; two great grandchildren, Morganly and Grayson Barnett; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the North Heights Church of Christ in Batesville with Chuck Crow officiating. Arrangements are by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
