James L. Simpson

James L. Simpson, 75 of Poughkeepsie died Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his home. He was born August 28, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to Leon and Juanita Hutchison Simpson.  He was a retired school teacher and guidance counselor having taught several years at Williford High School and a member of the Ash Flat Church of Christ. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peggy Simpson and a son, Ben Simpson.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick Simpson (Robin) of Cave City and Erik Simpson (Lisa) of Poughkeepsie; one brother, William Simpson (Cathy) of Michigan; 5 grandchildren, Shelby Simpson, Jarrett Simpson, Sam Simpson, Spenser Simpson and Quinn Simpson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Spotts Cemetery at Poughkeepsie. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jarrett Simpson, Sam Simpson, Brandon Ward, Cameron Ward, Wayne Parnell and Brian Nelson.
