Jeff David “Slim” Fields, 71 of Sulphur Rock died Tuesday, October 15, 2019. He was born April 11, 1948 in Lorraine, Ohio to Albert G. and Mabel Fields. He was the best durn pipefitter there ever was and a member of Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church at Rosie. He was a United States Air Force Vietnam Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one son, David Fields (Lisa) of Locust Grove; one daughter, Rhonda Fields Saffell (Justin) of Southside; one brother, Gene Fields (Shirley) of Florida; his fiancé, Edith Knepper; four grandchildren, Skyla Fields, Blake Fields, Rhanda Fields and Sam Saffell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Curt Howard and David Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Mack’s Chapel Cemetery located at Sulphur Rock with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Frank Perritt, Justin Saffell, Chase Wiles, Dennis Cossey, John Austin and Blake Fields.
Honorary pallbearers are Dwayne Stott, Wendell Dailey, Tony Ferrell, Bill Gaston, Rick Bunch, A.C. Bell and Frankie Cox.
