Jeffrey William McKenzie, 64, of Sidney, loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Jeff was born on November 21, 1957 in South Bend, Indiana. He was a devoted Christian and long time member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Jeff is survived by his wife of nearly 34 years, Leca McKenzie; three children: Diane Hunter (Deon Hunter), Adam McKenzie, and Maleca DeLao (Chafen DeLao); his mother, Donna McKenzie; six grandchildren: Tim King, Hannah Hunter, Hayden Hunter, Trent Hunter, Grant Hunter, and Ryan Hunter; three sisters: Brenda, Cheryl, and Gwen; a host of extended family; and an honorary family member, Billy McAllister.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Myrle McKenzie and brother, Gregory McKenzie.
Jeff will be remembered as a man of great integrity. He was a cattle farmer and had a longtime career at Intimidator. He was locally known and admired for his musical talents as a fiddle player. Jeff found peace and enjoyment in playing music, fly fishing, camping, spending time with his family and friends, and of course, a good cup of coffee.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sidney Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sidney. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Sidney.
Visitation will be Monday, February 7, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City.
Pallbearers will be Tim Battles, Chance Battles, Con Battles, Billy McAllister, Jeff Morris, and Terry Bradley.
