Jimmie “Jim” Riggs, 74, of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas went home to be with Jesus at his home. He was born March 13, 1948 to Kermit and Geneva Riggs.
Jimmie shared fifty-five years of marriage with the love of his life, Marshalene. Together, they raised five children. Jimmie’s greatest achievement in his life was when he gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Strawberry, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister; a son, Jeffery Riggs and two granddaughters, Whitney and Jasmine Riggs.
Survivors include his wife, Marshalene of the home; a daughter, Corina Williams of Salem; three sons, James (Penny) of Pfeiffer, Jerry Riggs of Poughkeepsie and Michael (Cynthia) Riggs of Evening Shade; a sister, Linda Foley of Poughkeepsie; a brother, Logan Riggs of Poughkeepsie. Jimmie is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, 10 AM at the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Strawberry with Roger Randolph and Randy Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Curtis, Jack Ivy, Lane Williams, David Riggs, Jeremy Simmons, Dustin James and Jesse Beck.
Honorary Pallbearers are Chub McLeroy, Michael Riggs, Little Jerry Riggs, James Riggs, Jerry Riggs, and Shannon Beasley.
