Juney W. Smith, 81 of Evening Shade died Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home. He was born June 26, 1938 near Brockwell, Arkansas to Thurmon and Edna Yancey Smith. He was a retired mechanic and former owner of Smith’s Garage and Station in Evening Shade. He was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Evening Shade.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Johnnie Qualls.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Bobbie Croft Smith of the home; one son, Randy Smith (Jackie) of Sidney; one daughter, Judy Smith of Evening Shade; one brother, R.V. Smith (Freda) of Covington, Georgia; one sister, Veda Faye Horton of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Lori Lucas (Timmy) of Florida, Ashley Parsley (Cody) and Logan Smith (Haley) both of Cave City; one great grandchild, Brayden Liles of Cave City; two step grandchildren, Megan Cooper and Zack Cooper (Erica) and two step great grandchildren, Carson Cooper and Isabelle Cooper all of Batesville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Street Church of Christ in Evening Shade with Clint McBryde and Burl Young officiating. Burial will follow in Evening Shade Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will Scott Bailey, Gary Shell, Shane Cooper, Logan Smith, Johnnie “Junior” Qualls, and Eric Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are Othell Qualls, Noel Arnold, John Wolfe, Timmy Lucas and the Men of Main Street Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Evening Shade Cemetery, C/O Donna Story, P.O. Box 192, Evening Shade, AR 72532.
